Q:
Can I place any type of wager in the contest?
A: No. Only Win, Place, Show, Exacta, Trifecta and
Superfecta wagers are eligible for contest play. No multi-leg bets are
allowed.
Q: Can I place all of
my contest wagers on the same race?
A: No. You must wager on at least five (5) separate races
to qualify to win a prize. However, there are no restrictions with
respect to how little or how much you may wager on a single race. As
long as you wager on at least five races and place at least $100 in
total contest wagers, you will qualify.
Q: Can I place more
than one contest wager on the same horse?
A: Yes. You may place as many wagers as you like using
the same horse or combination of horses. Just be sure to place a contest
wager on at least five separate races and place a total of at least $100
in contest wagers.
Q: Is there any limit
to how much I can wager in the contest?
A: No. You may wager as much as you like in the
contest.
Q: What if I wager on
five races but wager less than $100?
A: You will be disqualified.
Q: What if I wager
over $100, but wager on fewer than five races?
A: You will be disqualified.
Q: What happens if my
horse or horses are scratched?
A: Contest wagers that are partially or fully
refunded due to scratched horses will not count toward the $100 total
wager requirement or the five races played requirement, so be sure to
check for scratches during the course of the day at Hawthorne.
Q: What happens if a
pool or race is canceled?
A: Contest wagers that are partially or fully
refunded due to canceled pools or races will not count toward the $100
total wager requirement or the five races played requirement, so be sure
to check for canceled pools or races during the course of the day at
Hawthorne.
Q: What happens if
there is a tie?
A: If a tie occurs between any of the top 5 finishers,
each tied player will be awarded half their collective prizes. For
instance, if a tie occurs for 2nd place, the 2nd and 3rd place prizes
will be combined with each player receiving a $250 credit and 50,000
Youbet Advantage Points.
In the event a tie for 1st place occurs, the tied contestants will each
earn entry to the Hawthorne Handicapping Championship and a $500
Youbet.com credit.
Q: What if racing is
canceled at Hawthorne?
A: If racing is canceled, at least five races must be
completed and declared official for a winner to be declared in the
contest. If fewer than five races are run and declared official,
the contest will be canceled and no prizes will be awarded. If at least
five races have been run and declared official, the players with the top
five ROI scores at the conclusion of racing will be awarded their
respective prizes regardless of whether they have met the minimum
contest wagering requirements or not.
