Joseph Parker and Dereck Chisora are set to face off with heavyweight title implications on the line.

Parker is back in the mix
Just a little more than two months after he took care of business against former amateur rival Junior Fa, Parker has turned his attention to the well-traveled Chisora. Parker has regained some momentum he lost when he dropped back-to-back fights against Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte, and he has three knockout wins in his last four fights.
Parker needs to put the dreadful performance of the Fa fight behind him. Against Chisora, he has an aging opponent who might be susceptible to his physical advantages and youth. Should Parker win and look good, he’ll be on the cusp of a world title shot.
Chisora is past his prime
Chisora is once again in a meaningful fight off a loss. In October, Chisora put in a terrible performance against former undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk.
When he is at his best, Chisora is a pest. He’s rough on the inside and very awkward. We’ve seen Chisora put up great fights against the elite of the division, but they’ve all come in losing efforts.
Parker will win an ugly fight
Chisora was never going to be a main mover at heavyweight, while Parker has championship pedigree and is the better all-around technician. Chisora might try to copy Fa’s strategy, to slow Parker down with repeated clinches, but Chisora doesn’t have his legs to pin Parker down for the duration of the bout.

There is the chance Chisora will be on his game and get the better of an ugly fight. While Parker can be drawn into a slog, those moments came against opponents who were much better than the version of Chisora we’ll see on fight night.
Parker is only a narrow favorite, but he should win comfortably. This might not be the most entertaining fight in the early stages, but Parker might step on the gas as the fight goes on, to pursue a stoppage.
Parker will settle for a clear, dominant decision on the cards.
