Errol Spence Jr. vs. Danny Garcia betting odds and preview

IBF Welterweight champion Errol Spence (26-0) makes his long awaited return to the ring after a life-threatening car accident put his career on hold, and two-division world champ Danny Garcia (36-2) is no tune up. The two collide in a huge fight on Saturday, Dec. 5, and BetAmerica has the only preview you need to be the big winner on fight night.

Spence must be at 100%

Spence is a comfortable favorite, and that sounds just about right for a prodigious champion who is considered the best fighter in the division. Spence has the build of a fighter who can fight two divisions heavier and still be an elite fighter, whereas Garcia (+325) is a junior welterweight who filled out his frame at 147.

Garcia’s skill and power are a bit underrated. He can hit like a mule and possesses one of the best left hooks in the sport today. Spence is going to take the fight to Garcia, which plays right into Garcia’s heavy hands. It’s expected that Spence will take a few shots from Garcia, and if he’s not coming in at his best, one of those shots is bound to leave him reeling.

Garcia’s new weapon

Recently, Garcia has shown a dangerous right hand in the fights since his defeat to Shawn Porter. The straight right is one of the best punchers to use against a southpaw like Spence. At the same time, Garcia is becoming more aggressive.

He might have to flip the script against Spence and take the fight to him. Spence is no doubt going to target Garcia’s body and alternate that with smothering him on the inside to wear him out like Porter did. Unlike Porter, Spence’s punch selection and ring generalship will prevent the fight from devolving into a backroom brawl.

Spence will make a statement in victory

Even before his injury, Garcia’s only chance in victory was catching Spence with a counter. This is also forgetting that Spence can transition between offense and defense seamlessly, thereby not giving Garcia that window to land his best punch. The ingredients are there for Spence to put a beating on Garcia before he catches any hell.

A knockout seems unlikely, but fans should expect Spence returning to form and putting on a clinic. This fight will go over 10.5 rounds (-294), and Spence will win a commanding decision.

Pick: Spence (-475)
