The world prepares to stand still once again as YouTube sensation Jake Paul returns to the ring on Aug. 29, this time against former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. We have the betting odds and preview you need ahead of their eagerly anticipated bout.
Paul is feasting on another faded combatant
Paul is stepping up his competition this time around, but he’s still facing a fighter in the similar build as Ben Askren. In that fight, Paul stopped Askren with the first big punch he landed, resulting in a first round stoppage.
To his credit, Paul possesses decent fundamentals and is very strong. Going into this fight, he will enjoy a considerable advantage in youth and height, as well as being better acclimated to boxing than his opponent.

Woodley has been on a skid
Though many hailed Askren as the savior of modern boxing when he stepped up to challenge Paul, it took all but two seconds to silence the masses. Woodley is a better striker than Askren, but he’s best known for his wrestling, and left the UFC on a long losing streak.
Perhaps the chance at a huge payday at this stage of his career will put the fire in his belly. After all, Woodley has beaten good strikers during his run, but it really comes down to how bad Woodley truly wants to win.
Paul will score another early, easy stoppage
Here’s the thing: Woodley is doing his part to promote the bout, but there’s no way he wins Saturday night. Woodley checked out a long time ago and was just going through the motions ahead of his release. Paul is the physically bigger and stronger man, the fresher fighter, and the man with more to lose.
The ex-champ will look for an early chance to test Paul’s chin. If Woodley doesn’t get Paul out early, then there’s little doubt Paul will walk him down. Paul will establish his jab and start sending the right hand after it, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Woodley decides to not fight back once he starts feeling the heat.
The Jake Paul horror show will continue with Paul downing Woodley by no later than the third round. Though boxing will survive this episode of the Jake Paul experiment, one can only wonder what to expect next.
