Brought to you by IGT, Three Card Poker is fun to play – and you don’t have to be a poker expert to enjoy it. Once you grasp the idea of poker rankings (see our guide below), you just sit back, relax and try to make some cash.
Playing Online Three Card Poker
Once you find the game in the casino lobby, you will open your table. Begin by placing your bet in the ‘Ante’ box after choosing your chip denomination. Next, you receive your three cards, and the dealer gets three face-down.
Based on your view of your cards’ strength, you can elect to play on by matching your ante bet in the ‘Play’ box or fold your hand, forfeiting your ante bet.
Assuming you elect to play, the dealer’s three cards are revealed, and both hands compared. The strongest hand, according to the Three Card Poker rankings, wins. This table determines the payout:
Result | Ante | Play |
---|
Dealer does not qualify and you win | 1:1 | Push |
Dealer qualifies and you win | 1:1 | 1:1 |
Dealer qualifies and you lose | Lose | Lose |
Dealer qualifies and you tie | Push | Push |
Player folds | Lose | - |
If you make one of these three hands you get an Ante Bonus, irrespective of the dealer’s hand strength:
- Straight Flush 5:1
- Three of a Kind: 4:1
- Straight 1:1
Enjoy Side Bet Action
Mix up your playing enjoyment by placing a Three Card Poker side bet called Pair Plus. If you place a chip in this box before your cards are dealt, you win an extra amount following these payouts if you make:
Pair 1:1
Flush 3:1
Straight 6:1
Three of a Kind 30:1
Straight Flush 40:1
Hand Rankings in Three Card Poker
It’s important to know what beats what in terms of rankings. While the dealer will sort it out for you, it’s best to understand these yourself so you can judge the potential of your hand before electing to play or not.
If you know the traditional poker hand rankings, you’ll notice Three Card Poker rankings has some differences. Here’s the order, with the top hand first:
- Mini Royal (Ace, King, Queen suited)
- Straight Flush (running numbers of the same suit)
- Three of a Kind
- Straight
- Flush
- Pair
- High Card
