The NASCAR Cup Series offseason will come to an end on Saturday night when the Busch Clash takes place in Daytona. That makes this the perfect time to consider a championship futures ticket. Let's examine two drivers with especially compelling odds.

Chase Elliott is sitting at +1100 at the moment, which is excellent value for a driver that will almost certainly make the playoffs and should be able to have his moments. Elliott came into the sport with some hype as Bill Elliott’s son, but it took him some time to finally win a race. Many even wondered if he could get it done. He has since overcome that hurdle and had a nice 2019 season as he captured three wins and finished in the top 10 in points. The question now becomes if he can win a championship.

His team this season should be good enough, and if his playoff luck can change his +1100 odds will be very juicy. Elliott could win five races or more this season and should be in the mix come late October.
Jimmie Johnson (+3000)
Jimmie Johnson? Yes, Jimmie Johnson. Here is the deal: You could lock in some of the favorites of the sport right now at low odds. However, those odds will be there after 18 races. If Jimmie Johnson is able to turn back the clock for one season you won’t see him at +3000 come August. In what will be his last full-time season in the Cup Series, the seven-time champion has something to prove. Johnson is considered by some to be the one of the greatest NASCAR drivers in the sport. 2019 was not a kind year for Johnson. But not many Chevy drivers were successful last season? What if Chevy improves their race package? In 2020 we’re playing the long game with him. His team will be good enough to make the playoffs, and Johnson is still good enough to win races. Can he make one more magical run at the championship? At +3000 he's well worth a wager.
