Washington has the superior defense allowing 305.1 yards per game vs. FBS opponents to rank top-10 in the country. That’s 95 yards per game better on defense than Ohio State. The Huskies' stingy and talented secondary features a pair of All-American candidates and will make it tougher for OSU quarterback Haskins to have sustained success with a stronger pass rush. The Huskies defense allows just 4.6 yards per play to Ohio State’s 5.6 yards per play against a weaker schedule.
Washington’s FBS opponents had a win percentage of .538 and the Huskies finished 6-3 SU vs. bowl teams and 4-5 ATS while out-gaining them by 90 yards per game.
Rose Bowl Betting Trend: Ohio State is taking a steep portion of the action so far. The line may rise on game day and reach OSU -7, but I'm not buying the Buckeyes or the 'last game for coach Meyer' motivation angle. The Pac-12’s poor bowl performances and record this year (0-3 SU/ATS) and last year (1-8 SU/2-7 ATS) ends with the Huskies defense delivering the money.
