Miesha Tate continues her comeback against Ketlen Vieira in the main event of UFC Fight Night on Saturday, Nov. 20. Let's examine this matchup, beginning with the latest betting odds.
Tate is back in the saddle again
Tate ended a five-year retirement looking absolutely stunning as she picked apart Marion Reneau last July. While Reneau was the perfect opponent for the returning bantamweight beauty, Vieira will be a better indicator of what she has left.
A pioneer of women’s MMA, Tate looks to be in phenomenal shape as she hopes to earn a rematch with Amanda Nunes. She’s a grinder who is an absolute terror on the mat, and can quickly overwhelm her opponents if she can take them down.

Vieira is looking to rebound after stunning upset
Things seemed to be going Vieira’s way until she was upset by Yana Kunitskaya last February. Vieira went into that fight as the prohibitive favorite, but came in heavy and was outworked by Kunitskaya, and was unable to get her ground game going.
That marked her second defeat in three fights, making her seem vulnerable to the returning Tate. Her conditioning will have to be on point for this fight, as Tate is sure to engage her on the ground and see if Vieira has the chops or the gas tank to keep up with her.
A revitalized Tate will overcome Vieira
Going off their previous performances, Tate should have enough in the tank to beat Vieira. She may not be the best striker, but she is the better grappler. It is possible that Tate’s softball opponent makes her out to seem more capable than she is, especially as she’s facing a height and reach deficit versus Vieira.
The big question will be how Tate responds in a five-rounder in just her second fight back. She’s been there before, but as a younger fighter who was constantly in the gym. If she burns out too quickly trying to pin Vieira down, things might go south in a hurry.
It should be a close fight, but we like Tate here. If Vieira was a stronger striker, then that would edge it for her, but she’s not as airtight with her grappling and can be outworked on her feet. Expect Tate to take Vieira down and win this fight purely off ground control, with some veteran tactics proving too much for Vieira to overcome.
