The field in the NBA’s Western Conference is filled with contenders. Knowing which team will come out of the conference could lead to a potentially big win. Which team should you be backing to represent the Western Conference in the NBA Finals? Here are the odds:

Oklahoma City Thunder

If there were any doubts about the Thunder, they were erased in Game 3 against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Thunder trailed by 26 points at halftime but came back to pull off the victory and make the series 3-0 in the process.

The Thunder is as complete a team as there is in the West. They dominated the Western Conference from start to finish in the regular season, winning 68 games. No one seems like a major threat to beat them, and this will be the Thunder’s conference to lose.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers are something of a wild card right now. They finished in a three-way tie in the Western Conference during the regular season at 50-32, ultimately losing a tiebreaker to finish as the fifth seed in the conference.

They have presented a significant challenge for the Denver Nuggets early on, leading the series 2-1. If Kawhi Leonard is at his best, a team with him and James Harden can do a lot of damage. Leonard has been great in the playoffs so far, so the Clippers could be a team to watch as the playoffs progress.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers were one of the three teams to finish with a 50-32 record in the West, earning the third seed in the conference. The Lakers also have one of the most interesting nuclei in the conference with Luka Doncic and LeBron James leading the charge.

This isn’t peak LeBron, but he’s still deadly. Doncic is the driver here, one of the very best players in the world. As long as those two are playing their best, the Lakers will be a threat to anyone they face. Look out if they can get contributions from the rest of the lineup.

Golden State Warriors

The Warriors are the old goat, the team that has been to the mountaintop more than any other team in recent memory. They had to limp into the playoffs by winning in the play-in round but are dangerous now that they are here.

Steph Curry continues to lead the way for the Warriors. Jimmy Butler is an x-factor, the kind of guy that can lead a team to the Finals on his own. If he gets hot and Curry can exhibit some of that old magic, the Warriors could definitely be there at the end.

Minnesota Timberwolves

The Timberwolves were the young team everyone had been behind during their run a year ago. They fell short to Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks, but their future is bright. However, they face an uphill battle against the Lakers in the first round.

It all comes down to whether we see Anthony Edwards from a year ago. He became a superstar on the national level with his playoff performance, and he’s the kind of dominant figure that can lead the Wolves far. It will be one of the toughest challenges he and the Wolves have faced.

Who Will Come Out of the West?

Right now, it is hard to imagine anyone other than the Thunder coming out of the Western Conference. They set the pace all season long and have looked unstoppable throughout their first-round matchup with the Memphis Grizzlies.

A lot can happen in the playoffs, however, and they are not immune as the No. 1 seed in the West. The Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers, and Golden State Warriors all have the talent and experience to take on a young team like the Thunder and walk out with the win.
