5 NFL win totals you need to pounce on

It’s never too early to dive into the NFL win totals market, looking for value selections after most of the big-name free agents have already been plucked off the board.

Here are five pre-NFL Draft sides to consider.

San Francisco 49ers (Over/Under 10.5)

The 49ers cracked open the piggy bank for defensive lineman Arik Armstead (five-year, $85 million extension with $48.5 million guaranteed) and safety Jimmie Ward (three years, $28.5 million) this offseason.

But in order to make room under the salary cap, San Francisco was forced to trade defensive lineman DeForest Buckner (though it got a solid return, with the 13th overall pick in this year’s draft from the Colts) and let wideout Emmanuel Sanders — who took a two-year, $16 million contract from the Saints — walk away. Unless the Niners draft a wide receiver and a cornerback who can make an immediate impact, it’s likely that they’ll regress in 2020.

NFL free play: Under (-105)

Seattle Seahawks (Over/Under 9)

The Seahawks were an 11-win team in 2019, despite numerous injuries. Their running back situation was so desperate at season’s end that they lured Marshawn Lynch out of retirement to fill the void. Whether or not they re-sign Jadeveon Clowney, Russell Wilson and company are a serious threat to win the NFC West (and perhaps make a Super Bowl run) and should easily eclipse nine wins in 2020.

NFL free play: Over (-120)

Denver Broncos (Over/Under 7.5)

The Broncos had a brilliant beginning to the new NFL year. They signed Melvin Gordon to complement Phillip Lindsay in the backfield and traded for cornerback A.J. Bouye to replace the departed Chris Harris. Denver also pulled off a coup by landing five-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman Jurrell Casey from the Titans for just a seventh-round draft choice.

The Broncos went 4-1 in their last five games last season, thanks to quarterback Drew Lock, who appears to have a bright future. It will be interesting to see how the Broncos spend their 10 draft picks next month.

NFL free play: Over (-110)

New York Giants (Over/Under 6)

The future is looking bleak for the Giants. Breakout running back Saquon Barkley took a big step back in his sophomore season, and quarterback Daniel Jones had a terrible debut campaign. They’ll be breaking in their third head coach in five seasons, with former New England wide receivers coach Joe Judge, who has no experience as a head coach at the college or pro level.

Signing linebacker Blake Martinez, who was second in the league in tackles last year, was a positive move, but not one that will significantly improve a four-win team from a season ago.

NFL free play: Under (-105)

Miami Dolphins (Over/Under 6)

The Dolphins were clearly trying to field a bad team in 2019, but they still managed to win five games.

General manager Chris Grier had plenty of salary cap room to work with this offseason and took full advantage. He inked former Cowboys cornerback Byron Jones to a five-year, $82.5 million deal ($46 million guaranteed) and former Patriots linebacker Kyle Van Noy to a four-year, $51 million deal ($15 million guaranteed).

Grier further upgraded his defense by signing linemen Shaq Lawson and Emmanuel Ogbah. New offensive linemen Ereck Flowers and Ted Karras will help Tua Tagovailoa — or whichever quarterback the Dolphins select in this year’s draft — stay upright in their rookie season.

NFL free play: Over (-110)
