Buccaneers vs. Eagles: The best player prop bets for TNF

Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers return to Thursday Night Football for the second time this season as they visit the 2-3 Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field at 8:20 p.m. ET.

Brady is 4-1 in the regular season against Philly and 1-1 in the Super Bowl against the Eagles.

Most recently, the 44-year-old quarterback defeated the Birds 17-10 at Philadelphia in 2019, Brady's final season in New England.

This time, the seven-time Super Bowl winner will confront his adversary as a member of the Buccaneers and will square off against second-year signal caller Jalen Hurts.

The Bucs enter the contest as a seven-point favorite and are 2-3 against the spread in the early part of the season.

Let's examine this Thursday Night Football matchup further, as we explore the three best player props to bet for Brady's eighth career meeting with the Eagles.

Jalen Hurts: Over/Under 289.5 passing yards

While Brady has more than proven himself over his 22-year NFL career, the QB on the other sideline is just getting started.

The Eagles' second-round pick from 2019 is coming off a gritty performance in Week 5, in which Hurts carried his team to a 21-18 upset win over the Carolina Panthers and their top-ranked passing defense.

Hurts struggled through the air in the first half, but he ran for two scores in the second to dig Philly out of a 15-6 deficit.

He finished the outing with 198 yards on 22-of-37 passing, but against Tampa Bay's bottom-ranked pass defense, Hurts will get the chance to showcase his arm.

The Bucs surrender an average of 314.4 yards per game, a total Hurts has surpassed in two of his past three games.

He racked up 326 passing yards against Dallas' 31st-ranked pass defense and 387 yards against the league's worst stop unit, Kansas City.

Look for the young gun to see an uptick in his passing production in Week 6, as he faces an injury-riddled secondary and a unit that has surrendered at least 295 passing yards in all but one game.

Pick: Over 289.5 passing yards (-114)

Quez Watkins: Over/Under 39.5 receiving yards

One player who will benefit from Hurts' big passing day is deep-ball target Quez Watkins.

The second-year wideout averages the most yards per catch (20.5) on the Eagles, but ranks seventh in targets.

Even with other receivers getting more attention from Hurts, the Southern Miss product has been able to pile up yards quickly on deep passes and celebrated his first career 100-yard receiving day against San Francisco, which he accomplished from just two catches.

In his past three games, Watkins has averaged 42.3 yards and reeled in a crucial, 53-yard reception against Carolina to help set up a Hurts touchdown late in the third quarter.

With Watkins gaining more trust from Hurts, he'll get a few extra looks against Tampa Bay's weak secondary and hit the Over on 39.5 receiving yards.

Pick: Over 39.5 receiving yards (-115)

Leonard Fournette: Over/Under 60.5 rushing yards

The Eagles defense is much the opposite of Tampa Bay's. Philly ranks third against the pass (194.8) but gives up the third most rushing yards per contest (142), while the Bucs own the league's top-ranked run stop unit.

Tampa Bay has a trio of running backs it rotates through, but Leonard Fournette has emerged as the primary back, and is a frequent pass-catching target for Brady as well.

Tampa Bay's assortment of ultra-talented receivers will require plenty of attention from the Eagles defense, which will leave Fournette open to run up and down the field.

In their last two games, the Eagles have allowed an 100-yard rusher, so Fournette topping 60 yards shouldn't be an issue on Thursday.

Pick: Over 60.5 rushing yards (-113)
