Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has built a career on proving naysayers wrong.

While recruited in high school, a handful of college coaches suggested he consider a position change. Instead, Jackson insisted on playing quarterback, signed with Louisville, and shattered records on the way to a Heisman Trophy win.

In the NFL, his career has followed a similar path. Amid doubt over his abilities as a QB, he made an immediate impact in Baltimore and broke numerous NFL records during the 2019 season.

Only the second player to receive the NFL MVP award by unanimous vote, Jackson has helped revolutionize NFL offenses and shifted the perception of the mobile quarterback.

While some still criticize his play, his résumé speaks volumes. Let’s take a look at Jackson’s successful start to his career, as we break down his regular-season and postseason records against every NFL team.

Jackson vs. the Cincinnati Bengals

Some of Jackson's most spectacular performances have come against AFC North opponent Cincinnati.

No. 8 made his first NFL start against the Bengals on Nov. 18, 2018, after former Ravens starting quarterback Joe Flacco injured his hip. In the 24–21 win, Jackson completed 13 passes on 19 attempts, for 150 yards and an interception. He also rushed for 117 yards, which was a Ravens record for rushing yards by a quarterback in a game, later broken by Jackson in 2019.

In a Week 6 matchup with Cincinnati during Jackson's 2019 MVP campaign, he became the first player in NFL history to pass for more than 200 yards and rush for 150 yards in a regular-season game.

Later that season, Jackson achieved a perfect passer rating in a 49-13 rout of the Bengals. He was only the second NFL player, after Ben Roethlisberger, to record two perfect passer ratings in the same season.

In 2020, Jackson celebrated one more major milestone against Cincinnati in Week 17, when he became the first NFL quarterback with multiple 1,000-yard rushing seasons.

Jackson vs. the Cleveland Browns

Against fellow draft class member Baker Mayfield, Jackson earned his first win against Cleveland in Week 17 of the 2018 season. After he took over for Flacco that season, Jackson led Baltimore to a 6-1 record and the franchise's first playoff berth since 2014.

In 2020, Jackson set an NFL record for most rushing yards (124) by a quarterback on Monday Night Football while playing Cleveland. In the third quarter, he left the game with leg cramps and the Browns mounted a 14-point comeback to take the lead.

Jackson re-entered the matchup on fourth down, with less than two minutes in regulation, and found Marquise Brown for a 44-yard touchdown pass. The Ravens won, 47–42, and Jackson was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week.

Jackson vs. the Houston Texans

Jackson is 2-0 against fellow dual-threat quarterback Deshaun Watson, whom Jackson beat out for the Heisman Trophy in 2016.

Jackson's most notable moment against Houston came in Week 11 of the 2019 season, when he tallied four touchdown passes in a 41-7 victory. He also rushed for 86 yards, which made him the only quarterback in NFL history to rush for more than 60 yards in seven consecutive games.

Jackson vs. the Kansas City Chiefs

In the battle between 2018 league MVP Patrick Mahomes and Lamar, the former seemingly had Jackson's number, at the start.

Lamar dropped his first three games against Kansas City, including a 34–20 loss on Monday Night Football in which Jackson threw for a career-low 97 yards.

In Week 2 of the 2021 season, Jackson finally got over the hump against K.C., even though the Ravens' roster had been decimated by injures.

On Sunday Night Football, Lamar carried his team to a 36-35 victory at home, as he racked up 239 yards and one touchdown. He also ran for 107 yards and two more scores.

Jackson vs. the New England Patriots

While a win over Mahomes has eluded Jackson, he has taken down arguably the greatest quarterback of all time, Tom Brady.

In his first meeting with New England, in 2019, Jackson confronted Brady and the then-unbeaten Patriots on Sunday Night Football. In a 37-20 win, Jackson passed for 163 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 61 yards and two scores.

Jackson vs. the New York Jets

Jackson enjoyed a career-defining moment against the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football.

In a Week 15 win, Jackson broke Michael Vick's single-season rushing record (1,039 yards) for a quarterback, after he piled up 86 yards in the game.

Jackson vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers

Jackson is 1-2 in games he has started against AFC North nemesis Pittsburgh.

During Jackson's rookie season, Flacco was the starter in both games against Pittsburgh, and in 2019, he sat out a Week 17 matchup to rest before the postseason.

In 2020, Jackson struggled against Roethlisberger and company in a 28–24 loss. A positive COVID-19 test sidelined him for their second meeting that season.

Jackson vs. the Buffalo Bills

In the 2020-2021 Divisional Round, quarterback Josh Allen and the Bills got the better of Jackson in a cold and windy Saturday-night contest.

Jackson threw for 162 yards and ran for 34 in a 17-3 loss. On third and goal, with the chance to tie the score 10-10 in the third quarter, he had a pass intercepted for a 101-yard touchdown return. Soon after, he sustained a concussion and was sidelined for the remainder of the game.

Jackson vs. the Los Angeles Chargers

In a 2018-2019 Wild Card Round contest with the Los Angeles Chargers, Jackson became the youngest quarterback to start a playoff game.

Down 20-3 at the start of the fourth quarter, the rookie helped mount a comeback and brought the Ravens within six points with less than two minutes to play. On Baltimore's final possession, Jackson was strip-sacked by Chargers linebacker Uchenna Nwosu.

Jackson was sacked seven times in the game and finished with 194 passing yards, two touchdown passes, one interception, and 54 rushing yards in a 23-17 loss.

Jackson vs. the Tennessee Titans

One of Jackson's most devastating losses occurred against Tennessee in the 2019-2020 playoffs.

Despite leading the league with a 14-2 record, Baltimore showed up flat for its Divisional Round meeting and saw its Super Bowl hopes come crashing down.

In the 28-12 defeat, Jackson accounted for more than 500 yards of offense and became the first player to throw for more than 300 yards and rush for more than 100 yards in a playoff game.

Jackson got his revenge on Tennessee in 2020, when Baltimore pulled out a 20-13 win in the Wild Card Round.
