LOS ANGELES CHARGERS -3.5 over Kansas City Chiefs Anyone who took the Chargers earlier this week has to be disheartened that Joey Bosa could be out for nearly a month. But don't despair. We don't know how good Patrick Mahomes is going to be at quarterback just yet. Quite frankly, there's no telling if he's worth backing in NFL Week 1 late game quick picks or if he's going to take time to develop in to a reliable starter. Andy Reid has always been right when it comes to making decisions at quarterback, but anyone backing the Chiefs in this one knows it's a shot in the dark. Philip Rivers, Melvin Gordon and a revamped Chargers defense will be ready for the trickery of their division rival. Los Angeles has an unpleasant habit of starting off the season slow, but they're standing strong as a solid value play here with a home line that's tilting towards them.

It's just a lot of unknowns with Dallas. The Panthers are also 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games.

Washington Redskins +2.0 over ARIZONA CARDINALS There's no reason for the Arizona Cardinals to be favored. Other than the return of David Johnson, who just signed a nice $39 million contract for three years, we don't really know anything about how this team is going to look on the field. Sam Bradford has seen a sharp regression in his career and there's no telling if he can survive this game, let alone the grueling gauntlet of the entire season. The defense has also lost an important component in the form of Adam Mathieu, who is now keeping the lid on the Houston Texans secondary.

The Redskins make for a more stable commodity in NFL Week 1 late game quick picks simply because Jay Gruden's west coast offense is practically designed for a quarterback like Alex Smith. Dink and dunk all day.  As road dogs, Washington have plenty of potential. In other words, we're fine leaning on an experienced, established veteran over a journeyman held together by duct tape. If Bradford gets hurt, Rosen may or may not be ready and there's no way to encourage a wager on Mike Glennon.

Seattle Seahawks +3.0 at DENVER BRONCOS This might seem like a bit of a dart throw, but the Broncos aren't as stable as you might believe. Denver is getting considerable love in the sportsbook, but the Seahawks are one of those dangerous cover teams that thrives when everyone counts them out. They have just enough weapons on both sides of the ball to be effective, and Russell Wilson fully engaged in "do everything" mode is an absolutely lethal NFL betting factor. Denver's defense lost some considerable talent in the secondary this off-season, and their receivers may or may not be on the wrong side of their peak. Everyone's acting like Denver is some sort of lock even though there are a lot of questions left to be answered. We feel that Seattle as an upset specialist is a solid play to wrap up the NFL Week 1 late game quick picks.
