Favorites dominated Week 8 in the NFL, producing an 11-2 ATS record, and improved to 67-54 ATS for the season. And bettors will have to lay lumber to support some favorites in Week 9, with five teams favored by more than a touchdown.
YouBet.com has studied this week’s slate and will parlay our three best bets into a Week 9 parlay, line courtesy of BetMGM, and times listed as Eastern Standard Time.
NFL Week 9 Parlay (+583): Steelers – Under (Jaguars-Raiders) - Seahawks
Colts at Steelers, Acrisure Stadium, 1 p.m.
The surprising Colts enter with a 7-1 record, but it's a tough spot to lay points on the road, with the Steelers recording a 25-15 ATS record as an underdog off a straight loss under Mike Tomlin, including a 12-4 record at home. The Colts have faced three non-playoff teams and the banged-up Chargers, and have won their last four games. The Steelers’ defense has underachieved this year, surrendering a combined 68 points in their last two losses, but still has the personnel to frustrate Danny Jones with the pass rush. And Aaron Rodgers has thrown six TDs the last two weeks. Steelers still have plenty to play for and will look to get back on track, we’ll grab the points at home.
Pick: Pittsburgh
Jaguars at Raiders, Allegiant Stadium, 4:05 p.m.
Raiders are eligible to rebound with improved effort following a 31-0 loss to the Chiefs, and the Jaguars have had issues offensively, scoring a combined 19 points in the last two games. But the Jaguars remain efficient on defense, and the Raiders have scored only 103 points in seven games, ranking 31st in points per game (14.7). We lack confidence in both quarterbacks, so we expect a low-scoring game either way.
Pick: Under
Seahawks at Commanders, Northwest Stadium, 8:20 p.m. Sunday
Jayden Daniels is expected back but faces a difficult return against road-savvy Seahawks (3-0 ATS this year), who are 4-1-1 ATS playing on the East Coast under second-year coach Mike MacDonald. And the Seahawks won straight up as a six-point road underdog following a bye in MacDonald’s first season. They own the most underrated defense in the league, holding five of their last six opponents to 20 points or less, and the offense is starting to find its best stride under Sam Darnold. Commanders are banged up offensively and struggling defensively, losing five of the last six; the Seahawks are playing at too high a level presently.
Pick: Seahawks
