Top-5 NFL Week 6 Stories

Rams escaped Denver with a 6-0 record, Kansas City lost its first, and Cowboys beat up the Jaguars in 3 of the top stories that emerged from NFL Week 6. Check out a run down of the Top 5!

Rams Stay Perfect

Although the Rams are only 3-3 ATS, they’re undefeated straight up. The latest win came at Mile High in NFL Week 6 where Los Angeles beat the Broncos 23-20. The score doesn't reflect how out of reach this game was for the Broncos. They scored in garbage time with 1:22 remaining in the 4th quarter after being railed by Todd Gurley. The Rams accounted for 270 total rushing yards, with Gurley going for 208 and 2 touchdowns. Goff was held touchdown-less through the air, but also lost Cooper Kupp to a nasty injury that looked to be season ending.

The undefeated Rams have a chance to stay perfect as they visit the San Francisco 49ers, who are coming off a heartbreaking loss to Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers on Monday Night Football. The Broncos will have a chance to get back to winning with the Arizona Cardinals on tap. Case Keenum, who maintained his "pick per game" average in NFL Week 6, needs to start proving that he was worth the $18 million he was signed for.

Next Game: LAR -10 at San Fran, Denver -2.5 at Arizona

Patriots (Barely) Outlast Chiefs

Kansas City rallied down 24-9 at halftime but fell just short in their quest to go 6-0. Patriots rushed for 173 yards, and they did stop Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes from taking over in the first half, but the key play in this one came down to NFL’s goal to protect quarterbacks.

With KC leading 33-30 in the fourth, Breeland Speaks had Tom Brady wrapped up. Fearing he’d end up driving Brady into the ground, Speaks let go, allowing Brady to dive head first in to the endzone. The Patriots went up 40-33 after a Gostkowski field-goal.

As they do, the explosive Chiefs fired back with a 75-yard catch and run by Tyreek Hill who outran the whole building down the sidelines to even the score at 40-40 with 3:03 remaining, but that played right in to Tom Brady's plan. After grinding up the Chiefs' defense for those three minutes, Gostkowski nailed a 28 yarder to ice the game with zero time remaining, handing the Chiefs their first loss while reminding us all that leaving any time on the clock for Brady to work with is a bad idea.

Next Game: New England -3 at Chicago, Cincinnati at KC -6

Ravens Shut Out Titans

Heading into their Week 6 matchup with Tennessee, Baltimore wondered if the Titans’ magic might lead to a loss.

Tennessee had beaten the Eagles, the Texans, and the Jaguars on the road by exactly 3 points. Ravens knew Titans couldn’t score a lot of points. But, they also knew Tennessee had somehow managed victories without scoring a lot of points.

Baltimore had nothing to worry about. Ravens got their rushing attack going, 123 yards, and beat Titans 21-0.

Next Game: New Orleans at Baltimore -2.5, Tennessee at LAC -6.5

Cowboys Pummel Jaguars

I’d have made this first on my Top 5 Stories for NFL Week 6 if Jacksonville hadn’t looked like garbage the week before. Kansas City rushed for 126 against Jaguars in Week 5.

The Cowboys rushing for 210 is somewhat surprising. Bigger shock is Jacksonville didn’t adjust at any point during the game. Dallas kept running the ball. Jaguars kept watching Dak and Zeke go right through their front seven.

Whatever happened to the league's best defense from a year ago is a genuine mystery. The personnel is the same for the most part.

Next Game: Dallas at Washington -1.5, Houston at Jax -5

Seahawks Demolish Raiders at Wembley

Doesn't matter what country, time zone or stadium they play in, the Raiders are still awful. Seattle punished Oakland 27-3 at Wembley Stadium in London. Once again, Raiders decided to shove Marshawn Lynch to the background. Lynch only got 13 carries.

Unlike Raiders, for the second straight week, Seahawks got the ground game going. Seattle rushed for 155 yards. The win brought them to .500. Seattle won’t catch the L.A. Rams and win the NFC West, but they could challenge for a wildcard.

Next Game: BYE (Seattle), BYE (Oakland)
