Washington Football Team vs. Dallas Cowboys: The best betting props for Thanksgiving

The Dallas Cowboys snapped an ugly four-game losing streak last weekend by stunning the Minnesota Vikings, who entered the game as sizeable favorites. Andy Dalton had a solid day with 203 yards passing and three touchdowns in his first start since Oct. 25.

The last opponent Dalton faced prior to last Sunday was the Washington Football Team. Dalton suffered a concussion on a devastating hit and was removed from that game – a 22-point loss for Dallas. Now, after so many struggles this season, the Cowboys will try to win back-to-back games when they face Washington on Thanksgiving.

Here are the three prop bets we like most for Washington Football Team vs. Dallas Cowboys.

Ezekiel Elliott rushing yards

Ezekiel Elliott didn’t have a particularly good outing against Washington in Week 7, as he ran for only 45 yards on 12 carries. However, he enters Thursday's matchup with some serious momentum.

For the first time this season, Elliott surpassed 100 rushing yards in a game, as he ran over the Vikings for 103 yards on 21 attempts. It was easily his best showing in an otherwise disappointing year.

Most rushing yards in Week 11:

🔹 Derrick Henry - 133
🔹 Dalvin Cook - 115
🔹 Nick Chubb - 112
🔹 Ezekiel Elliott - 103

Washington has given up 120 yards rushing per game this season, and with Zeke showcasing some vintage form in Week 12 bettors should be confident he'll break 70 yards rushing on Thursday.

Elliott has also made it a habit of putting up big numbers on Thanksgiving, including 121 yards rushing against Washington two years ago. Obviously there are personnel changes on both teams that impact numbers year-over-year, but Elliott is trending in the right direction heading into this year's holiday showdown.

Pick: Over 69.5 rushing yards (-115)

Andy Dalton passing yards

There were a number of positives to take from Andy Dalton’s performance against the Vikings in Week 12. First and foremost, he’s healthy. Three touchdown passes helped Dallas get a big win, which despite a losing record, keeps the Cowboys very much in the hunt in the dreadful NFC East.

Dalton can still be productive against Washington, but there could be limitations on how many yards he puts up.

Washington has done well defending the pass all season, giving up the fewest passing yards (1,954) of any team in the league. They’ve allowed only 197 completions – the third fewest in the NFL – on 308 passing attempts against. They’re also among the league leaders in quarterback sacks and in the top third of the league for passing touchdowns given up as well as interceptions.

Most QB pressures by rookies this season
1. Chase Young, Football Team- 18
2. Derrick Brown, Panthers- 17
3. Javon Kinlaw, 49ers- 15
3. D.J. Wonnum, Vikings- 15 pic.twitter.com/7Yg4fZKTVZ

Where they have struggled at times is against the big play, allowing eight plays of 40-plus passing yards, the second worst number in the league.

Dalton’s sample size with the Cowboys is small. In two full games as the starter, he has thrown for more than 250 yards just the once. Washington, meanwhile, is giving up fewer than 200 yards passing per game. Take the Under.

Pick: Under 253.5 passing yards (-115)

Anytime touchdown scorer

Antonio Gibson didn’t take long to make an impact in Washington’s offense.

The rookie running back has eight rushing touchdowns and has been held out of the end zone in only three games. In his last outing against the Cowboys, Gibson shredded the Dallas defense for 128 yards on 20 carries and one major score.

The Cowboys have given up 12 rushing touchdowns, as well as 4.9 yards per carry this season.

Dallas struggled to contain Minnesota running back Dalvin Cook on Sunday, and Gibson could feast once again against the Cowboys on Thursday.

Pick: Antonio Gibson anytime touchdown (-125)
