Week 13 Thursday Night Football Betting - Dallas Hosts Marching Saints

The New Orleans Saints head to Arlington to battle the suddenly streaking Dallas Cowboys in a key NFC matchup for both teams. The Saints hope to continue dominating opponents while the Cowboys look to stay atop the NFC East. The oddsmakers, however, see this as a lopsided affair in Week 13 Thursday Night Football betting with the Saints posting as a 7-point favorite.

New Orleans has been on an amazing run, winning 10 straight. The Saints are 9-1 ATS in those 10 wins too. They’ve pummeled their opponents by double-digits in their last 5, including beating the Rams 45-35 in Week 9 to really cement their place as the Super Bowl LIII favorite.

Like the Saints, the Cowboys are on a roll, albeit a much smaller one. The Cowboys have won 3 in a row SU and ATS. No victory was as important as the one over rival Washington on Thanksgiving Day. With the win, Dallas tied the Redskins atop the NFC East.

Will the Cowboys or the Saints continue their football mastery in Week 13 Thursday Night Football betting?

NFL WEEK 13 THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL BETTING New Orleans Saints at Dallas Cowboys Thursday, November 29th – AT&T Stadium – 8:20pm ET Odds: Saints (-7) 53

Saints Looking to Maintain

Without question, New Orleans has turned into the best team in the NFL. After the Week 1 loss to lowly Tampa Bay, most were sharpening the forks and pens, ready to either stick New Orleans to see if they were cooked, or write them off before Week 4.

But the Saints have bounced back in a big way. They’ve become such a machine on both sides of the ball that at this point, New Orleans simply needs to maintain momentum. The team that plays in the Big Easy perfectly encapsulates the old sports saying, “The only team that can beat them are themselves.”

The scary thing about the Saints solid they've been against seemingly strong scoring offenses. Atlanta scored only 17. Cincinnati only 14, and Philly 7.

If New Orleans can maintain this type of consistency on both offense and defense, no team in the NFL will beat them. They can absolutely afford to drop a game, but they're just so dialed in that it's hard to look the other way in Week 13 Thursday Night Football betting, even on a weird schedule where they play back-to-back games midweek.

Cowboys Search For a New Orleans Antidote

The Cowboys’ task on Thursday night is much tougher than that of their opponent. It goes without saying that Dallas must come up with a way to stop Brees and move the ball versus their opponent's attacking defenders. Obviously, this is easier said than done.

Neither will be easy for the Cowboys. At least, their top skill players have finally gotten on the same page. Since Week 9, Dak Prescott hasn’t completed less than 67.7% of his passes while Ezekiel Elliot’s continued to shine, rushing for 121 yards or more in 3 straight.

Even acquisition Amari Cooper has found his feet. Cooper had a breakout game against Washington, catching 8 passes for 180 yards and 2 touchdowns. Cooper must have another big game against New Orleans for the Boys to have any shot at keeping up, though Oakland fans will tell you that back-to-back boomers from Cooper are not to be expected. He's been far more consistent in his new uniform, and will be a focal point of New Orleans' strategy for keeping Dallas out of the endzone.

Dallas can’t expect their defense to stop the highest-scoring team in the NFL. For the Cowboys to have any hope of a victory, they must move the ball and score touchdowns. Against some lackluster competition, they've gotten the job done. Keeping pace in a track meet with New Orleans will be significantly harder even as a home team.

Week 13 Thursday Night Football Betting Analysis

Although the Saints have gone 9-1 ATS in their last 10, wagers on this game haven’t changed the spread. The line opened at New Orleans -7.0 and stayed there early on.

Some feel that Dallas can slow down New Orleans. The trends don’t imply that because the Cowboys are 5-11 ATS versus a team with a winning record, 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games in Week 13, and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 at home versus a team with a winning road record.

The Saints are 20-7 ATS in their last 27 on the road. In the head-to-head, New Orleans is 8-3 ATS in the last 11. The trends point to a New Orleans win and cover. This feels like a lot of points to lay down, and eventually the Saints are going to have a rough outing, but everything about them at this point is too attractive. Despite salvaging their season, I'm not convinced . Saints all the way.

Week 13 Thursday Night Football Betting Free Pick: Saints -7.0
