Week 7 NFL Power Rankings

1. Los Angeles Rams (7-0 SU and 4-2-1 ATS) Another week, another blowout. The Rams waxed San Francisco to remain unbeaten, and demolished a -8.0 point line that should've been doubled. Meanwhile, Todd Gurley is on pace to shatter numerous records (which he was last year as well). Want to know a fun fact? Todd Gurley has scored more individual points than...the Buffalo Bills. Is this a good time to mention that he's +300 to win the MVP?

Next Game: Green Bay at LAR -9.0

2. Kansas City Chiefs (6-1 SU and 7-0 ATS) After feasting on the Bengals in prime time, the Chiefs line up against the Broncos, Browns and Cardinals before traveling to Mexico City for a potential Super Bowl LIII preview agains the scorching hot Los Angeles Rams. For now, they are a betting dynamo and any team that is undefeated against the spread at this point in the season deserves your attention in the book. This team is brilliantly coached and incredibly talented. The fact that you can make money on them without stressing about it is even better.

Next Game: Denver at Kansas City -10.0 3.New England Patriots (5-2 SU and 4-3 ATS) Listen, we know that the Patriots are flawed. You probably think that they don't deserve to be this high on the list. After all, they were just one yard away from being forced in to overtime against the Chicago Bears on Sunday. But they are the only team that's beaten the Chiefs, and are 4th in scoring. A 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS run over the past four weeks is enough to convince us that the Patriots are third best in this league.

Next Game: New England -14.0 at Buffalo (Monday Night) 4. New Orleans Saints (5-1 SU and 4-2 ATS) It finally happened! It took 15 years for the Football Gods to balance the shanked PAT of John Carney! Rejoice! Oh wait, the Viking are coming to town for revenge aren't they. Well, rejoice anyways and then get ready for the Game of the Week!

Next Game: New Orleans at Minnesota -1.5 (Sunday Night)

5. Minnesota Vikings (4-2-1 SU and ATS) Adam Thielen is stealing all the headlines for his personal, record-setting start. The Saints will definitely have to slow him down, but New Orleans probably should also emphasize that tackling Stephon Diggs is a priority. The last time they forgot to do that didn't go well. We can't wait for this game.

Next Game: New Orleans at Minnesota -1.5 (Sunday Night)

6. Los Angeles Chargers (5-2 SU and 3-4 ATS) This team continues to be sneaky good, despite allowing the Titans to worm their way back in to the London game. We'll give the Chargers a bit of a pass considering that they suddenly lost Melvin Gordon to a hamstring injury. They have a bye this week to get their superstar player back on track, but if his injury gets worse, the Chargers are in for a tough second half.

7. Carolina Panthers (4-2 SU and 3-3 ATS) Everyone getting torn up about what to do with Carolina either hasn't bet on them before, or forgets the premise of a Cam Newton team. They're grinders. That's it. They will look terrible at times, and like world beaters at other moments. Sometimes even within a single game, like this past Sunday when they rallied to squash the Eagles. Carolina is the epitome of a team that wins ugly.

Next Game: Baltimore -2.0 at Carolina 8. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2-1 SU and 3-3 ATS) Another week passes by and Le'Veon Bell is still nowhere to be found. That's been the narrative all season, but the Steelers also had to "pay him". He's now voluntarily surrendered $6 million, which the team could have used on a linebacker...or a cornerback...or anything else. This is a situation that is hurting both sides. Bell is clearly a stud on the same level as Gurley. Pay him. Play him. Let's get this over with. The last thing we need to see is Pittsburgh and Cleveland tying again.

Next Game: Cleveland at Pittsburgh -8.0

9. Baltimore Ravens (4-3 SU and ATS) The good news? Baltimore held Drew Brees to his lowest output of the season, and looked the part of an actual Super Bowl contender. The bad part? Well, did you see how the game ended?

Next Game: Baltimore -2.0 at Carolina

10. Washington Redskins (4-2 SU and ATS) Here's the annoying part about stacking teams in a power rankings that's also heavily influenced by how well teams do against the spread. There isn't a universe where Washington is a top-10 team. Their defense is solid, but the offense is just 25th in the league overall. They deserved to lose to Dallas by all accounts and were gifted the match by an errant call from the officials. The staggering part is this: Washington is 4-0 ATS when the line is less than a field goal and have lost both games outright when the line is anything higher than that. They are also undefeated as underdogs this season, making their matchup against the Giants even more dizzying.  We don't want to like this team, but they keep succeeding in tightly capped games.

Next Game: Washington -1.0 at NYG

11.Detroit Lions (3-3 SU and 5-1 ATS) The Lions were one of the harder teams to place in the Week 7 rankings. On the one hand, they've trounced the Patriots, Packers and Dolphins. They're also 5-1 ATS, which makes them as good as gold in the sportsbook. But it's hard to love a team that has a -0.1 point differential. on the season.

Next Game: Seattle at Detroit -3.0

12. Atlanta Falcons (3-4 and 2-5 ATS) The point of these rankings is to sort out who's good, who's not and which teams are stronger against the betting line than others. Every now and then there's a season that defies all logic and the 2018 campaign is one of those. At the very least, the idea of these rankings is that a team should at least invoke confidence compared to the teams listed below it. There's a 15-team sewer cake of teams here from the 10th ranked franchise all the way down to the 25th. You could literally put all these teams in a Vitamix and spit out a ranking in any order and it'd probably be explainable. Atlanta has a great offense and a terrible defense. We can say that about over half the teams in the league. The Chiefs fit that profile. It's maddening, infuriating and awesome all at the same time.

Next Game: BYE 13. Philadelphia Eagles (3-4 SU and 2-5 ATS) Philly was never going to rely on running the football to defend their title but their 102.9 rush yards per game is a bloated metric. As we saw in the fourth quarter meltdown against Carolina, the Eagles can't control the clock because Wendall Smallwood is their feature back. But it's not just Smallwood - the Eagles haven't had anyone run for more than 100 yards in a game. The closest was Jay Ajayi, who ran for 70 in an overtime win over the Titans three weeks ago.

Next Game: Philadelphia -3.0 at Jacksonville (London Game)

14.Cincinnati Bengals (4-3 SU and ATS) The Bengals are the only team in the league that covers in wins and fails to cover in losses. There's one of those every season. They are historically untrustworthy on the betting line during the Andy Dalton Reign of Terror, but we're not going to hammer them for getting pummeled in to the dirt by Kansas City. The Bengals have a peculiar scoring offense (26.3 points, 11th) and a defense that surrenders the 4th most points and the 2nd most yards. Do you see a theme this season?

Next Game: Tampa Bay at Cincinnati -4.5

15. Miami Dolphins (4-3 SU and ATS) The status of Ryan Tannehill is really puzzling, but who cares because BROCK OSWEILER REVENGE GAME!

Next Game: Miami at Houston -7.5

16. Green Bay Packers (3-2-1 SU and 2-4 ATS) I hope Green Bay had fun on their bye week because they have a two week road trip ahead of them that includes a visit to play the Los Angeles Rams in Week 8, followed by a trip to Foxboro where Tom Brady awaits. Ouch.

Next Game: Green Bay at LAR -9.0

17. Denver Broncos (3-4 SU and 2-4-1 ATS) You don't get bonus points for beating up on the Arizona Cardinals. If the Broncos can keep up with the Chiefs, then we'll move them up the standings here.

Next Game: Denver at Kansas City -10.0

18.Chicago Bears (3-3 SU and ATS) So Mitchell Trubisky overthrows his receivers all the time, except for the one time he has to throw a hail mary?

Next Game: NYJ at Chicago -7.0

19. Houston Texans (4-3 SU and 2-5 ATS) A quarterback that has to play on a short week with a punctured lung that's so bad he can't fly on airplanes? And the team has to play in 15 hours away in Denver the next week? Sign us up! (That was sarcasm. Please don't sign us up.)

Next Game: Miami at Houston -7.5 20. Cleveland Browns (2-4-1 SU and 5-2 ATS) For a normal power rankings, this is way too high. But look at that spread busting record. It's the third best in the league. We're not saying you should be betting the Browns, but you should probably be betting on the Browns. If you can stomach it, that is.

Next Game: Cleveland at Pittsburgh -8.0

21. New York Jets (3-4 SU and ATS) At what point are growing pains too painful? Sam Darnold has thrown 10 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. We know he's young, has potential, and is from USC but we said all the same things about Mark Sanchez.

Next Game: NYJ at Chicago -7.0 22. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-3 SU and 2-4 ATS) The Bucs are the top ranked passing offense in the league statistically, which is probably something that you've heard by now. Credit Fitzmagic as much as Winston, who unloaded 365 yards through the air in an overtime win over Cleveland. Through six games, they have 2,261 passing yards total which is the second most in the history of the league behind the 2000 St. Louis Rams, who had 2,275. Does Tampa resemble the Greatest Show on Turf to you? Yeah, us neither. Winston has played in 2.5 games so far and already has 6 interceptions, tying him for the 10th most in the league. Anyone who has tracked Tampa over the years knows this awful truth about Winston: he's a yards, touchdowns and turnover machine. The former first overall has 74 touchdowns and 74 turnovers in his career.

Next Game: Tampa Bay at Cincinnati -4.5

23. Seattle Seahawks (3-3 SU and 3-2-1 ATS) Statistically, the Seahawks are doing incredibly defensively. They've allowed just 326.7 yards per game and are 5th in points allowed with just 19.5 per game. That's crazy considering that they lost Earl Thomas and bargain binned the rest of the defensive unit. The problem? They play the Lions, Chargers, Rams, Packers and Panthers over the next five weeks. Every week Seattle is going to present as a potentially sneaky bet.

Next Game: Seattle at Detroit -3.0

24. Indianapolis Colts (2-5 SU and 3-4 ATS) This is where the Colts deserve to be considering their overall record, but Sunday's 37-5 dusting of the Bills got us plenty excited. Andrew Luck looked great and Marlon Mack at full health makes the Colts a very dangerous team. We're in, especially given that they travel to play Oakland prior to a bye week.

Next Game: Indianapolis -3.0 at Oakland

25. Dallas Cowboys (3-4 SU and ATS) The Dallas Cowboys, ranked 29th in passing yards so far, just traded a first round pick for a receiver who is ranked 73rd amongst all players who have caught a football this year. That'll fix things!

Next Game: BYE

26. New York Giants (1-6 SU and 3-4 ATS) Eli Manning cost his team the game by running back-to-back quarterback sneaks that backfired, and then immediately ran two successful scoring plays involving Odell Beckham Jr. for the touchdowns and Saquon Barkley up the gut for a two point conversion. Why didn't they just try those plays initially instead of burning a minute off the clock? If New York wants a trade so badly, why aren't they calling the Oakland Raiders right now?

Next Game: Washington -1.0 at NYG

27. Tennessee Titans (3-4 SU and 4-3 ATS) You know what gets you fired in the NFL? Running a 2-point conversion with 5 wideouts and zero backfield threats from the half-yard line when the game is on the line. Who does that when you have Dion Lewis tearing San Diego up the middle, Derrick Henry available and waiting to score another touchdown, and Marcus Mariota inches away from just diving in himself? Unbelievable. The Titans play this game like a 13-year-old kid plays Madden. Vrabel believes that "trickery" is passing when you show run, and vice versa. That's not scheming, Mike. That's tomfoolery. How about you play some basic football before you and Mattt LaFleur start tossing around your bag of dumb ideas.

28. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-4 SU and ATS) The Jaguars were ranked 11th last week, and that was honestly way too high. A loss to the Chiefs was excusable. Getting shellacked by Dallas was weird. Losing to the Houston Texans? That's not even the worst of it. Multiple reports indicate that the Jaguars' players were in-fighting in the locker room after the loss. I bet Carlos Hyde didn't think a franchise could be more dysfunctional than the San Francisco 49ers or Cleveland Browns when he was traded.

Next Game: Philadelphia -3.0 at Jacksonville (London Game)

29. Oakland Raiders (1-5 SU and 2-4 ATS) Oh cool, the Raiders are loading up on draft picks! This is the team that's drafted JaMarcus Russell, Darren McFadden, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Rolando McClain, DJ Hayden, Khalil Mack, Amari Cooper, Karl Joseph, Gareon Conley and Kolton Miller with the last ten picks. Only Mack is a serviceable asset (the jury's still out on Miller, but he looks fine). I know Jon Gruden is involved now, but are we sure that he knows what a good football player looks like anymore?

Next Game: Indianapolis -3.0 at Oakland

30. Buffalo Bills (2-5 SU and 3-4 ATS) Sean McDermott was ultimately forced by the locker room leaders to start Derek Anderson over Nathan Peterman so that he "didn't lose the team". He threw three picks and the Bills scored 5 points. Making matters worse is the annual Patriots game, which takes place under the bright lights of Monday Night Football.

Next Game: New England -14.0 at Buffalo (Monday Night)

31. Arizona Cardinals (1-6 SU and 3-3-1 ATS) Josh Rosen doesn't seem to sense danger the way a quarterback should. He basically has whatever the opposite of a "Spidey-sense" would be. If anyone can relate to him, it's Byron Leftwich, the new offensive coordinator of the Cardinals. Leftwich was sacked 67 times in his first three seasons.

Next Game: San Francisco at Arizona -1.0

32. San Francisco 49ers (1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS) Arizona almost made it down here after being buried by the Broncos, but the 49ers were listless against the Rams. There's potential for Cardinals-49ers to have some potential. When two bad teams play each other, entertaining things go down. It's like a tire fire that occasionally shoots fireworks.
