Some of the NHL’s brightest stars will be shining in the national spotlight on Wednesday night as the Washington Capitals visit the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Place.

Capitals left winger Alex Ovechkin is fresh off a two-goal Tuesday night in Calgary, where he tied Jaromir Jagr for third on the all-time goals list. Leon Draisaitl Over/Under 2.5 shots on goal

Draisaitl’s goal-scoring pace has slowed down considerably as the season has progressed. After notching 15 tallies over 13 November games, the Cologne, Germany native has a modest-by-comparison 18 goals over his last 37 outings.

Part of this deceleration can be attributed to his shots-on-goal tally decreasing, as he’s recorded only 12 shots over his last seven games. That spells trouble for him against a Caps defense that’s fourth in the NHL in this department, with only 29 shots reaching their netminder per contest.
