Group F will be decided with one of the biggest matches of the Euro 2020 group stage, as Portugal and France square off Wednesday.

In its two group-stage matches, Portugal has taken six corner kicks apiece, against both Hungary and Germany.

In its first match against Hungary, the corners came, at least in part, because the Hungarians stifled Portugal and forced the team to shoot from range. In the second match, the Portuguese corner count elevated because the Germans did a great job blocking shots in the box.

Portugal must secure a result to advance.

If France gets a goal, it will force the Portuguese to push numbers forward in search of an equalizing goal. That will give France plenty of space to operate against a Portuguese defense that has been exposed as old and slow.

In Portugal’s last eight matches in the European Championship, including qualifiers, three goals or more have been scored in seven.
