Premier League Gameweek 6: The best player prop bets for De Bruyne, Gray, and Heung-min

The Premier League ramps up a notch again this weekend with some huge fixtures to get sucked into. The two title favorites go head-to-head at Stamford Bridge as Man City visit Chelsea, and just a short hop across the capital we have the extra-spicy North London Derby between Arsenal and Tottenham.

Elsewhere, Cristiano Ronaldo continues his electric return to the Premier League at home to Aston Villa, while new boys Brentford host Liverpool. Everton will hope their good form continues against a completely hopeless Norwich side and there’s a feast of other action across the country.

With so much to look forward to, here are the three best player prop bets for Gameweek 6.

Chelsea vs. Manchester City: Kevin De Bruyne to score a goal (+400)

KDB made this list last week but failed to deliver as Manchester City shockingly slumped to a 0-0 draw with Southampton with De Bruyne starting on the bench. Coach Pep Guardiola was likely nursing his star playmaker back into the team following the Belgian’s ankle ligament injury.

The good news is that De Bruyne managed a full 90 minutes and found the scoresheet in mid-week as City recorded a 6-1 win in the League Cup against Wycombe Wanderers, and hopefully he’s now in line to start in a huge game between the two title favorites.

Chelsea knocked Man City out of the FA Cup last year and beat them in the Champions League final, so Pep will be looking for a measure of revenge, and De Bruyne can help him get it. He has three goals in his last four Premier League matches against his former club and clearly loves rising to the occasion.

Thomas Tuchel’s side will be a tough nut to crack and have only conceded one goal all season – a Mo Salah penalty in a 1-1 draw with Liverpool. If there’s one man who has the genius to unlock that back line it’s De Bruyne, and he’s good value to get a goal as City begin one of the toughest seven-day periods they’ll have all season with away games to Chelsea, PSG, and Liverpool all coming up in the next week.

Arsenal vs. Tottenham: Son Heung-Min to score a goal (+245)

Before the international break Tottenham were sitting pretty on top of the league while Arsenal were at the bottom, having lost three games, conceded nine goals, and failed to score themselves. But the tables have flipped this month with Arsenal winning back-to-back games 1-0 while Spurs have lost 3-0 twice on the spin. Mauricio Pochettino’s struggling side need to turn the momentum.

And there is no better place to stop the rot than in a fiery North London Derby. These games are always intense affairs, but one man has risen above the madness in recent years. Spurs forward Son Heung-min has three goals in his last six games against Arsenal.

With Harry Kane out of form and struggling for confidence, Tottenham will be looking for Heung-min to step up to the plate. He’s already got the winning goal in 1-0 victories against Man City and Watford, and with Kane AWOL, he has become the focal point of the attack.

Heung-min has had 12 shots in his four appearances – more than any other Spurs player, and 26% of all Tottenham’s attempts on goal this season have been by the South Korean.

There have been at least two goals in this fixture in 15 of the last 16 times they’ve faced each other, and we haven’t had a North London Derby end 0-0 in more than a decade. There should be goals and Heung-min is a great value play to get one of them.

Everton vs. Norwich: Demarai Gray to score a goal (+225)

The Rafa revolution looks set to continue at Everton this weekend as Norwich visit Goodison Park. The Canaries are rock bottom off the league after failing to pick up a single point in their opening five matches, and they have the worst defensive record in the top flight, conceding 14 goals in total.

The Toffees, meanwhile, are just three points off the top and have won both their home games this season 3-1. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the star striker, but a dual injury blow has put him on the shelf as he deals with toe and quad problems.

But Everton fans needn’t have worried as summer signing Demarai Gray has stepped up in splendid fashion. Bought for just £1.7 million from Bayer Leverkusen, Gray has three goals in five league games and has started the season red-hot.

Gray is averaging a shot every 42 minutes this season, and Calvert-Lewin is the only Everton player to have more attempts on goal. Now the Toffees get to take a shot at Norwich who concede 17.2 shots per game (fifth highest in the league), and have lost 12 of their last 14 away games in the top flight, drawing the other two.

Norwich’s last Premier League away win was actually at Goodison Park almost two years ago, but lightening shouldn’t strike twice this weekend, and Gray can add the exclamation point.
