MLB Monday Preview: Nationals at Brewers, Mets at Padres

Jhoulys Chacin's ERA is frightening at first glance, but his home splits are terrific. Chacin is 2-0 with a 2.76 ERA in three starts in his own ballpark this season. Since 2016 Chacin owns a 4.00 overall ERA (89 starts) but a home ERA of 2.87 (38 starts).
Brewers center fielder Lorenzo Cain will be held out of this one for precautionary reasons after being hit in the hand with a pitch on Sunday (just minutes after running headfirst into the outfield wall making a highlight-reel catch), but outfielders Christian Yelich and Ryan Braun are more than capable of carrying the load on offense for Milwaukee.
Yelich, last year's NL MVP, hit his 15th home run of the season Sunday, just three at-bats after a one-week respite to rest a minor back injury. Braun has 11 hits in his last four contests.

New York Mets (16-18) at San Diego Padres (19-16), 10:10 p.m. ET
Jacob deGrom (2-3, 3.82 ERA) (NYM) -110 / -1.5 runs (+150) / Over 6.5 runs (-110) Chris Paddack (2-1, 1.91 ERA) (SD) EVEN / +1.5 runs (-180) / Under 6.5 runs (-110)Monday night's series opener between the Mets and Padres at Petco Park should feature strikeouts aplenty, and is therefore likely to be low-scoring.
Mets pitchers have recorded 329 strikeouts this season, third in the National League, while the Padres' staff is close behind in sixth at 313. Jacob deGrom has struggled with consistency on the heels of his 2018 Cy Young campaign for New York, but he's still tied for seventh in the senior circuit in Ks (49).
Chris Paddack doesn't have the best strikeout stuff (35), but he hasn't needed it in his rookie season. Paddack is allowing batters to hit just .126 against him through six efforts. The Mets' lineup has been languishing of late, exceeding five runs just once in their last 10 tilts.
