49ers vs. Rams: The best player prop bets for the NFC Conference Championship

The No. 6 seed San Francisco 49ers will visit the No. 4 seed Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium for a divisional rematch in the NFC Conference Championship Game on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The Rams finished first in the NFC West with a 12-5 record, while the 49ers (10-7) landed third, but bested LA in both regular-season meetings.

Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan has won six straight against Sean McVay and the Rams, including Week 18's come-from-behind overtime victory that earned San Francisco a bid in the playoffs.

To reach the NFC Conference Championship Game, the 49ers upset the third-seeded Dallas Cowboys, 23-17, in the Wild Card Round and sent top-seeded Green Bay packing in the Divisional Round with a 13-10 win at Lambeau Field.

Los Angeles already faced another NFC West opponent in the postseason, when it trounced the Arizona Cardinals, 34-11, in the Wild Card Round. The Rams also built a 20-3 lead on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first half of the Divisional Round, but allowed Tom Brady and his hobbled offense to spearhead a near come-from-behind victory in a 30-27 thriller.

To win on Sunday, LA will need to cut back on the mistakes that almost cost the team last weekend, while San Francisco will need to find a spark from its offense, after defense and special teams carried the Niners to a win in Green Bay.

Let's further examine this rubber match between the 49ers and Rams, as we look at the three best player props to bet in the NFC Championship Game.

Jimmy Garoppolo Over/Under 222.5 passing yards

In Saturday's win over Green Bay, Jimmy Garoppolo had a rough outing on the Frozen Tundra, as he completed just 11 of his 19 passes for 131 yards and threw one interception.

In the fifth coldest game in Lambeau Field history, the Niners generated just 212 yards of offense and needed a special teams touchdown and two Robbie Gould field goals to pull off an upset of Aaron Rodgers & Co.

In his last two games, Garoppolo has failed to throw for more than 175 passing yards while playing with an injured shoulder and hand. In Week 16, he tore a ligament in his thumb, but still threw for more than 300 yards in his Week 18 matchup with Los Angeles.

However, in the Wild Card win against Dallas, he suffered a shoulder sprain in the first half and was visibly limited in the second, finishing with 172 yards on 16-of-25 passing, while he tossed an interception and failed to record a touchdown.

Blame the thumb or the shoulder or the weather, but SF 49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo flirted with disaster too many times in the playoff win over the Packers.https://t.co/j0KNiZxVjv

The Niners know their best chance for a win Sunday will be another commanding performance from their defense and a focus on the ground game.

Look for Jimmy G to play a secondary role in the offense and for the Under to hit on 222.5 passing yards.

Pick: Under 222.5 passing yards (-113)

Elijah Mitchell Over/Under 71.5 rushing yards

San Francisco's run game primarily revolves around 2021 sixth-round draft pick Eljiah Mitchell, who has emerged as a star at running back.

Through 13 games played including the postseason, Mitchell has rushed for 72 or more yards eight times, and ran for 85 or more yards in both games against the Rams this season.

LA has allowed the fewest rushing yards per game in the playoffs (56), but no team has run the ball more than San Francisco in 2021 (499 attempts).

With wideout Deebo Samuel playing a significant part in San Francisco's rushing attack during the second half of the season, he will keep LA off balance and allow Mitchell to do more damage in the backfield.

Expect a high volume of carries by the rookie and back the Over on 71.5 rushing yards.

Pick: Over 71.5 rushing yards (-114)

Tyler Higbee Over/Under 39.5 receiving yards

Wideout Cooper Kupp is the No. 1 guy in the Rams' offense, but tight end Tyler Higbee has seen his production increase over the season and has posted six straight games with 40 or more receiving yards.

In Sunday's win over Tampa Bay, he was targeted seven times (third most on the team), and hauled in four passes for 51 yards.

In his first meeting with San Francisco in Week 10, Higbee recorded one of his lowest receiving totals (20 yards), as the Rams offense struggled to find a rhythm in its first game without receiver Robert Woods, who tore his ACL in practice in November.

In Week 18, the Rams looked much more cohesive and built a 17-point lead on San Francisco, behind two touchdown catches by Higbee in the first half. The tight end finished the game with 55 yards and caught six of his team-high eight targets.

Expect Matthew Stafford to look to the veteran receiver on Sunday against a team that let Cowboys tight end Dalton Schultz haul in seven catches for 89 yards in the Wild Card Round.

Pick: Over 39.5 receiving yards (-117)
