Chiefs favored to score most points in 2022 NFL Divisional Round

The Kansas City Chiefs’ high-octane offense is projected to score more points than any other team in the 2022 Divisional Round of the playoffs, according to TwinSpires Sports.

The star-studded unit, led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, scored 42 points in a rout of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card Round last Sunday, and will host the third-seeded Buffalo Bills in a Sunday night Divisional Round matchup.

The Bills finished as the highest-scoring team in the first round of the playoffs, with 47 points in a historic 30-point win against the New England Patriots last Saturday.

Not only did Buffalo hand six-time Super Bowl-winner Bill Belichick his largest margin of defeat in the postseason as New England’s head coach, but the Bills became the only team in the Super Bowl era to score on each of its seven drives that did not end with a kneeldown.

There has been 590+ Playoff Games in NFL History.

Buffalo is a two-point road underdog in Sunday’s meeting with Kansas City, while the Over/Under is set at 54, the highest total of all four Divisional Round games.

These two franchises met in Week 5 in Arrowhead, where the Bills thrashed the home team, 38-20.

The Bills share +400 odds with the Green Bay Packers to finish with the most points on the weekend.

The No. 1 seed in the NFC, Green Bay will face the sixth-seeded San Francisco 49ers, who own the league’s 10th best scoring defense (21.5 opponent points per game).

The Packers were tied for ninth in scoring (26.5) in the regular season, and put up 30 points on the Niners in a Week 3 victory.

Rams vs. Bucs could turn into high-scoring slugfest

The other Divisional Round battle in the NFC could see the winner take the crown for highest-scoring offense of the weekend.

The Los Angeles Rams will enter as a 2.5-point underdog at Raymond James Stadium against the defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but Matthew Stafford & Co. already beat Tom Brady’s team, 34-24, in Week 3.

Brady’s offense will be without star receivers Chris Godwin (injured) and Antonio Brown (released), and two of their offensive linemen could be sidelined with injury.

The roster changes from when the Rams beat the Bucs 34-24 in Week 3 is wild.

That could spell doom for Tampa Bay, while the Rams will come in fully loaded on offense, and have a new weapon in Odell Beckham Jr., who was still a member of the Cleveland Browns when the Rams played the Bucs in Week 3.

Bengals a longshot play

The first Divisional Round contest of the weekend will feature the No. 4 seed Cincinnati Bengals against the top-seeded Tennessee Titans.

Tennessee is favored by 3.5 points at home and will get Derrick Henry back from injury for the first time since Week 8.

The Titans will attempt to control the clock through the run game to keep Joe Burrow and his ultra-talented, young receiving corps off the field. If Tennessee's rushing attack isn't effective against Cincinnati’s fifth-ranked run defense, the Bengals will hold a major advantage.

Joe Burrow (25): 4,165 yards

Joe Mixon (25): 1,159 yards

Ja'Marr Chase (21): 1,163 yards

Tee Higgins (22): 1,029 yards

Tennessee surrendered the second most yards to wide receivers in the regular season, and with Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd at Burrow’s disposal, the Titans could be in for a long day.

The Over/Under on this game is set at 47.5, just a half point below the Rams vs. Bucs total.

The Bengals scored 41 points against Baltimore in Week 16 and 34 against Kansas City the following week. If this explosive offense is going to pull off an upset against Tennessee it will require a huge showing from the passing game, which could result in a flurry of points against the Titans’ bottom 10 pass defense.
