Everything you need to know about Super Bowl LVIII: Game time, odds, novelty props, and more

The Kansas City Chiefs will go for their second straight Super Bowl title and third in five seasons when they clash with the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on Feb. 11 in Las Vegas.

The Chiefs and Niners met on the NFL’s biggest stage recently, back in Super Bowl LIV, where Kansas City rallied to defeat San Francisco 31-20 inside Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

For the majority of the 2023 season, the 49ers have been a top choice to win the Super Bowl behind the play of star running back Christian McCaffrey and Mr. Irrelevant, Brock Purdy, the quarterback of San Francisco. The Chiefs had an up-and-down season but came on strong just in time for the NFL playoffs, where they knocked off Miami, Buffalo, and Baltimore on the way to the team’s fourth Super Bowl appearance since Feb. 2, 2020.

Below YouBet provides you with a full breakdown ahead of Super Bowl LVIII, including everything you need to know about Super Bowl live coverage, game odds and novelty props, the halftime show, and more.

Colorado

When and where is Super Bowl LVIII?

Super Bowl LVIII will kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 11, inside Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders. It will be the first time the Super Bowl is played in Las Vegas. Allegiant Stadium is a domed stadium that opened in July 2020 and cost $1.9 billion, making it the second-most expensive stadium in the world.

How do I watch Super Bowl LVIII?

The game will air on CBS and stream live on Paramount+, while Nickelodeon will offer a kid-friendly broadcast.

Which teams are competing in Super Bowl LVIII and who is favored?

The Chiefs and the 49ers will meet in a rematch of Super Bowl LIV, in which Kansas City entered the matchup as a 1.5-point favorite ahead of the 2020 meeting. This time around, the Niners are listed as a two-point favorite, with the total for the game set at 47.5.

Who are the head coaches in Super Bowl LVIII?

Kansas City head coach Andy Reid is seeking his third Super Bowl title in his fifth career appearance as a head coach. He lost the first Super Bowl he coached with the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX. He returned to the big game for the second time in Super Bowl LIV, when the Chiefs defeated the Niners. The following year, Kansas City failed to defend its title when the Chiefs lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl LV. At the end of the 2022 season, K.C. returned to the Super Bowl and beat Reid's former team, Philadelphia, in a 38-35 thriller in Super Bowl LVII.

San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan has reached the Super Bowl once as a head coach, in his third year at the helm of the Niners, when San Francisco fell to Kansas City in Super Bowl LIV.

Who are the top players on the Chiefs and 49ers?

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce headline the Chiefs offense, while McCaffrey is the star of San Francisco. Niners quarterback Brock Purdy has played the role of starter this season and could become the first Mr. Irrelevant (the last draft pick of his class) to win a Super Bowl.

Kelce was especially popular in the media this year, as he's been dating pop icon Taylor Swift. The singer/songwriter is expected to attend Super Bowl LVIII, and you can find various prop bets regarding her presence at Allegiant Stadium.

Also of note, the Over on Kelce's receiving yards has hit in every postseason game that Swift has attended, and the Over cashed in four of the nine regular-season games in which his girlfriend watched from inside the stadium. On the contrary, in the six games where Kelce saw game action but Swift was not in attendance, the Under hit five times.

Who will perform the national anthem at Super Bowl LVIII?

Country music legend Reba McEntire will sing the national anthem ahead of kickoff. Additionally, Post Malone will perform “America the Beautiful” and Grammy winner Andra Day will do a rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”

Can you bet on the length of the national anthem?

Novelty prop odds are available on the length of the national anthem, with the Over/Under settling at 90.5 seconds at some sportsbooks for McEntire’s upcoming performance.

McEntire has been known to sing the national anthem in a fairly quick tempo, and the longest McEntire anthem available to watch on YouTube clocks in at a minute and 23 seconds.

Who will perform the Super Bowl LVIII halftime show?

Multiple Grammy-winning R&B and pop singer Usher, who recently had a Las Vegas residency, will perform during this year’s halftime show.

What Super Bowl LVIII halftime show odds are available?

Various sportsbooks are offering odds on the Super Bowl halftime show, including the Over/Under on songs performed (8.5) as well as the first song of the halftime show. Currently, Usher's 2004 mega-hit “Yeah!” featuring Lil Jon and his 1998 single “My Way” are among the favorites.

What other Super Bowl LVIII novelty prop odds can you bet on?

Per tradition, you can bet on the color of the Gatorade bath following the conclusion of the game, the coin toss prior to the game, who will be mentioned first by the Super Bowl MVP in his postgame speech, and who will appear as a guest performer during the halftime show. Alicia Keys, Ludacris, and Lil Jon are the most likely to show up on stage with Usher, based on current odds.

You can also wager on the Over/Under of the jersey number of the first touchdown scorer — Over 22.5 is favored at -115 — and the Over/Under of the jersey number of the last touchdown scorer.

The odds of a Super Bowl Scorigami, or a first-of-its-kind final score in Super Bowl history, are +2000. While it's unlikely in the Super Bowl, note that there were nine Scorigamis during the 2023 NFL regular season, including Week 17, when Baltimore beat Miami 56-19. Neither Kansas City nor San Francisco were involved in the other eight Scorigamis during the regular season.

What in-game Super Bowl LVIII odds can you bet on?

You can wager on the usual point spread, game total, halftime total, and anytime touchdown scorers for the Super Bowl, plus odds are available for a player to break the Super Bowl passing touchdown record (Yes is +8000) or the passing yards record (506-plus passing yards is +15000). Same goes for the receiving yards record (216-plus receiving yards is +3000) as well as the rushing yards record (205-plus rushing is +3000).
