Rams vs. Bengals: The best Super Bowl LVI interception prop bets

When most of us think of a “Hollywood ending” to the Super Bowl, we envision our team of choice completing a game-winning touchdown pass as time expires. But a game-winning interception can be just as dramatic. Anyone who doesn’t believe that need only remind themselves of Super Bowl XLIX.

Malcolm Go!!

Malcolm Butler’s INT of Russell Wilson at the goal line, with 20 seconds left in the game, seals the victory, as the Pats come back from down 10 points in the 4th Qtr to win their 4th Super Bowl (28-24)

The INT need not even occur at the end of the game, as it can turn the tide of momentum on a dime. Will Matt Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals be able to avoid the worst mistake a quarterback can make in Super Bowl LVI? Join us as we dive into the interception prop bets pool.

Los Angeles Rams vs. Cincinnati Bengals, Feb. 13, 6:30 p.m. ET, NBC

Jessie Bates III to record first INT

The Bengals’ season leader in interceptions is linebacker Logan Wilson, with four in the regular season and one in the playoffs. Because of that fact, Wilson is the favorite among Cincinnati defensive players to tally an INT in Super Bowl LVI.

But linebacker is not the position most NFL fans are accustomed to seeing record interceptions. Considering the low odds on Wilson, we’ll look elsewhere on the Bengals’ roster for a play.

Safety Jessie Bates III already has an interception this postseason, which occurred in his club’s 19-16 win over the Tennessee Titans in the Divisional Round. He also defensed a pass that turned into a crucial interception by Vonn Bell, which helped Cincinnati beat the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.

Bates is a dangerous player, and Stafford has made some puzzling throws during the course of this campaign, especially early in games. He could throw a quick pick into the arms of Bates, which would trigger a nice prop payout.

NFL pick: Bates first INT (+800)

Jalen Ramsey to record an INT

Jalen Ramsey has yet to snag an interception in these playoffs for L.A., but he does enjoy the co-lead on his team in passes defensed (three), so quarterbacks are daring to throw his way. One of football’s best cornerbacks is definitely a threat to post an INT in the biggest game of his life.

Ramsey had a team-high four interceptions in the regular season, tied with safety Taylor Rapp, who is on pace to return from a concussion for his first playoff game of the year on Sunday. If Burrow is down late and needs to force the issue, that’s when Ramsey could strike.

NFL pick: Ramsey anytime INT (+525)
